Wanderley and Rosaria Da Silva, our missionaries based in Mozambique, have been working really hard to get the school ready for opening. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the school has had to undergo a number of changes to ensure the school can operate safely within the current government guidance.
They have made the application for approval following a recent inspection and are now waiting for the go ahead to open.
The changes they have been making are for the health and educational needs of the children. They have bought new tables and chairs and have been painting and improving the school facilities, which are looking great. We look forward to hearing the news of when the children can return. I am sure you will agree the photos look as if something is missing – the children!
The children have not been sitting at home doing nothing. They have been supported at home with lessons, where they have been working hard and carrying on with their studies. Many of the families have been visited and encouraged by Wanderley and Rosaria. As you can imagine, the families are looking forward to when the children can return, as home schooling is challenging no matter which part of the world you live in!
