CAM International – Newslink, 18 July 2017

Dear prayer partners,

Here is some information to help you pray for CAM’s work and missionaries:-

Lloyd & Sandy Rowlands are based at the Living Waters Centre in Lubumbashi, CONGO. Lloyd arrived back last Tuesday from his week at Kasaji with Superintendent Betavie. It was an excellent time, with around 1,500 attending the District Conference. The theme was ‘The Power of the Cross’. Lloyd spoke on ‘Development’, giving practical ideas to help Christians improve their lives. Thank God for this opportunity to minister to so many. Pray for lasting fruit. Next Monday, the Rowlands will drive the Garrards back to Ndola, Zambia. They will spend a few days there before returning to Congo. Pray for a good trip and relaxing break.

Dave & Ruth Garrard are into their last week in CONGO. Dave taught two courses at ISTELU Bible College last week. He also did more checking of the Bible study book on ‘Jesus Christ’ in Kiluba, which will hopefully soon be ready for printing. At the weekend, Dave left by MAF plane for Lwamba. He is also visiting Mwanza (birthplace of the Mission) and Kisanga. He will be away until Thursday. Pray for a fruitful trip for Dave, as he speaks in churches and talks with senior pastors. Pray for an anointing on all his ministry.

Gordon & Sybil McKillop work at Nyangombe in ZAMBIA. Many people made confessions of faith after seeing the ‘Jesus’ film last week. Praise God! Pray for the work of placing them in active local churches where they can be discipled. Nyangombe evangelists are going into poor villages where people drink heavily to forget their misery. Pray for release from their addictions, and new hope in Christ. Since April, 500 or so people have attended different-length Bible teaching courses at Nyangombe. Pray that what they have learnt about Jesus and God’s Word will take root in their hearts and bear fruit.

Wanderley & Rosaria da Silva are based in Chimoio, MOZAMBIQUE. They need to find four people to go for teacher training offered locally by the Baptists’ World Missions Dept, ready for the planned pre-school opening in Feb 2018. Pray for wisdom in selecting the right people. On Friday, the da Silvas are hosting a themed party for their fellow missionaries, with everyone dressing up in ‘mismatched, country-style’ clothes. Pray for a time of good fun, deepening their bond as fellow missionaries in Mozambique.

In ETHIOPIA, CAM supports 65 national church planters on a monthly basis. Pray for these zealous evangelists as they reach out constantly into new areas with the Gospel.

Carol Seymour and Ginny Perkins are on leave in UK, busy visiting supporting churches and also making new contacts. Tomorrow they are going to the Isle of Wight for a week. Pray for God to bless their ministry in churches on the island. Keep praying for Carol’s brother-in-law Andy, who recently learnt that he has bone marrow cancer.

Andrew & Lyn Ramsey are on a short visit to ZAMBIA. They had another good weekend of ministry with two Ndola churches. This coming Sunday they will visit the Chifubu church. They are thrilled to have met up with most of their former Zambian colleagues, including Pastor Chelu in Luanshya, with whom they had a most encouraging time of renewed fellowship. Pray for their final five days in Zambia and short visit to Uganda next week, meeting a missionary from their home church before returning to UK on 29 July.

Thank you for praying. Our CAM personnel really appreciate your interest and support.
