CAM International – Newslink, 27 June 2017

Dear prayer partners,

Here is some information to help you pray for CAM’s work and missionaries:-

Lloyd & Sandy Rowlands are based at the Living Waters Centre in Lubumbashi, CONGO. Lloyd went to Tumbwe on Sat with project participants in the Mission lorry to bring in the maize harvest. There was too much for one load, so he was going to fetch the rest today. It sounds good, but the harvest was actually disappointing. Thank God for the help these supplies will give to the families involved, but pray for wisdom ‘as we decide what to do with the project in the future.’ Fruit sales from the orchard have been good. Now Lloyd will catch up with other jobs around the Centre – grafting in the tree nursery, pruning fruit trees, doing repairs in the house, etc. Pray for him and for Sandy in her home-based ministries.

Dave & Ruth Garrard are spending a few weeks in CONGO. Last week, Dave was very busy in Lubumbashi - teaching at ISTELU Bible College, preaching on a radio broadcast in town on Weds, and working on the Kiluba version of Wm Burton’s ‘Teachings from the Word of God’, ready for printing in Zambia. Pray for God’s blessing on what has been shared and for this booklet as it goes to print. Dave went to Kolwezi on Sun and will be there until Sat. Pray for him as he teaches in the Bible College every day, mornings and evenings. Pray for Ruth as she stays in Lubumbashi. (Power cuts most of day make household jobs take much longer.)

Gordon & Sybil McKillop work at Nyangombe, NW ZAMBIA. A 2-week Bible School will finish on Thurs. Pray for God’s blessing on the 55 students, some with long journeys home. Pray for them to retain the teaching and be a blessing in their churches as they pass it on. The ‘Jesus’ film will be shown Weds night at a ‘tough drinking location’. Pray for people to respond to the Gospel and be liberated from their bondage to alcohol. Youth Camp starts Thurs night for about 140 secondary school pupils from the area. Visitors are coming from UK to participate. Pray for all the arrangements, for the youth, leaders and visitors. Pray for transformed lives through this Camp. Pray for Gordon as he helps organise and set up; for Sybil with her catering for visitors, etc.

Wanderley & Rosaria da Silva are based in Chimoio, MOZAMBIQUE. Their daughter Dayene arrived safely. Pray for her as she gets involved in the work. Last Sun-Mon, Mozambique celebrated 42 years of Independence, peacefully. Pray that the country will continue to enjoy peace and security. This week work restarts on the Vocational Training Centre – the toilet block. Pray for this to go well, with minimal stress. Pray for the da Silvas as they help with a marriage seminar at the weekend. Pray for God to bless couples who attend.

Carol Seymour and Ginny Perkins are on leave, visiting churches in UK. Last Weds eve they had a very good meeting at a new church in King’s Lynn, and on Sun enjoyed sharing about their work at trustee Andy McManus’s church in Morton, Lincs. Thank God for blessing their ministry. Pray for them as they speak twice in Essex on Thurs and on Sat move to the Nottingham area for a week of meetings and visiting friends.

In ETHIOPIA, CAM supports 65 national church planters on a monthly basis. Pray for these committed workers as they push forward into new areas, showing Christ’s love and sharing the Gospel. Pray for blind eyes to be opened and people set free.

Thank you for praying. It means so much to our CAM personnel to have your support.
