CAM International – Newslink, 23 May 2017

Dear prayer partners,

Here is some information to help you pray for CAM’s work and missionaries:-

Lloyd & Sandy Rowlands are based at the Living Waters Centre in Lubumbashi, DR CONGO.  Lloyd left with a pastor colleague on Saturday to travel by taxi-bus to Kasenga, about 130 miles NE of Lubumbashi. They didn’t arrive until late evening and were very tired. Pray for the teaching seminar all this week for church leaders who have come in from the area. Pray for strength for Lloyd, for his teaching to be anointed and for great blessing for all who attend. Sandy reports that ‘more and more people are asking for help and we have little we can do physically – we can only pray.’ Pray for wisdom for Sandy and for her words of encouragement and prayers to make a difference to the needy folk who come seeking help. They are still waiting for their niece Shiphrah’s papers to come through from Immigration so that she can visit them. ‘Time is running out.’ Pray for the paperwork to be released soon.

Gordon & Sybil McKillop have been back at Nyangombe, in NW ZAMBIA, for a week now. They invite us to praise God for many recent safe journeys over atrocious roads; also for the safe arrival of four visitors from USA. Two are staying for ten days and a couple, Logan and Kelly, are spending three months in Zambia. Pray for them. Pray that Logan and Kelly will settle well into their work in various areas around Nyangombe. This week there will be two showings of the ‘Jesus’ film in very rough, hard-drinking villages. Pray for the Gospel to penetrate hard hearts and for safety for the team and equipment. Pray for a three-week Bible School which has just started, with 50 students. Pray for God’s anointing on all involved.

Dave & Ruth Garrard are currently based in Ndola, ZAMBIA. Last week, Dave drove to Kitwe every day to teach church leaders between 9am and 4pm. It was a tiring schedule, but well worth it. Four leaders came from Solwezi, where there is a growing outreach. On Sunday, Dave & Ruth went to the Sunday meeting at Pastor Lubuto’s church in Kitwe (which hosted the teaching seminar). Dave spoke and there was a good response. Thank God for these ministry opportunities in Kitwe. Pray for a lasting impact on the leaders and the churches. Pray for Dave & Ruth to get their Congo visas soon, ready for the trip there next month.

Wanderley & Rosaria da Silva are on leave in BRAZIL. Rosaria’s father will be 100 years old tomorrow (Weds 24th) and the family had arranged a party for him last Sunday. However, both Rosaria’s father and mother (81) were admitted to hospital last Friday with pneumonia, so the celebration was postponed until this coming Sunday. Pray that they will be well enough for this. The da Silvas only have 2½ weeks left before they return to MOZAMBIQUE. Pray that they may be able to complete all their medical tests in time. Pray for peace and security in Mozambique and for all to be well with their house and Vocational Training Centre in Chimoio.

Carol Seymour and Ginny Perkins are on leave in UK, currently attending the Missions Conference at the New Life Church in Croydon, London. It started on Sunday and runs until Sun 28 May. Pray for Carol and Ginny as they share about their work in Congo. Pray for them as they prepare to visit other churches in the coming weeks.

In ETHIOPIA, regular Bible teaching goes out from the TV studio in Addis Ababa (one of CAM’s Centenary projects). Pray for God to continue to use Mamusha, the main teacher, to help bring faith, encouragement and deeper Bible knowledge to the many who tune in.

Thank you for praying. It means so much to our CAM personnel to have your support.
